External, But How? Mobile Storage Solutions Compared
HighPoint Rocket 1511
The 1511 provides the most unassuming way of operating a hard drive externally via serial ATA. The card uses the HPT372 but only makes use of one port (two are possible). Since this puts a serious damper on its possible applications, we strongly recommend another controller that has at least two ports. In any case, aided by HighPoint's B11 and B22 adapters, the RocketMate housing can be operated by any SATA controller.
The extra package is accordingly Spartan: a handbook and a driver disk. But that's all you really need in this case.
