Alcatel has announced the One Touch Idol Ultra, which it claims to be the world's thinnest smartphone.
The company announced a new range during CES 2013: the One Touch Idol Ultra, the One Touch Idol and the One Touch Scribe HD.
The Idol Ultra, pictured above, boasts a thickness of just 6.45mm, making it the 'thinnest smartphone in the world'. It'll run on Android Jelly Bean, be powered by a 1.2GHz dual core processor and boast a 4.7-inch HD OLED screen. An 8-megapixel camera is also included.
Alcatel's One Touch Scribe HD, meanwhile, sports a a 5-inch HD screen and a quad core MediaTek MT6589 processor. It'll also boast an 8-megapixel camera, as well as 4G compatibility.
As for the company's One Touch Idol, it's apparently the "lightest smartphone in its category" with a weight of 110g. It also features a 4.7-inch screen utilizing IPS LCD technology, which results in less rich contrast ratios. An 8-megapixel camera is included, with the smartphone due to run on Jelly Bean. It'll be offered in 'premium brushed metallic finishes'.
The trio of smartphones will launch sometime during 2013, with prices for the supposed record-breakers yet to be unveiled.

back_by_demand Impressive, the thinnest phone ever was the Samsung U100 at a whopping 5.9mm, this is just half a mm off, I wonder who will actually break the record? Probably someone who can use OLED and bendy screens to reduce the need for extra glass protectionReply -
salgado18 I was thinking, what is the difference between these and all others? Where has real inovation gone? Must we choose phones by specs vs. price only?Reply -
