Intel Confirms More Dual-Core Androids Will Be At MWC

New smartphones, tablets and ultrabooks using Intel processors to be unveiled at the event.

Intel has said that it'll reveal more dual-core Android smartphones at the Mobile World Congress, which commences in Barcelona towards the end of February.

The chip maker will use MWC as a platform to showcase smartphones based on its low-end Lexington Atom Z2420 processor targeted at emerging markets. It'll also be showing off new ultrabooks and tablets.

"Specifically, Intel will showcase its latest smartphone technologies and devices running the Android platform, including a new dual core, dual graphics platform, as well as OEM and service provider-supported devices based on the company’s new Intel AtomTM Z2420 platform targeted at emerging markets," the company said.

Last September, Intel revealed the Motorola RAZR i, followed by the unveiling of the Lenovo K900 smartphone during CES 2013 (head on over to our hands-on impressions). More recently, it revealed the Yolo handset aimed for the Kenya market. It also announced a partnership with Acer to reveal the Liquid C1 smartphone.

    Atom is synonymous with sucky performance..

    m32I don't want to use anything with "ATOM" in it from Intel. Sorry....A few weeks ago, Intel showed off a few prototype devices using the newest Atom CPUs and they managed to complete most benchmarks both faster and using less power than most ARM-based platforms.

    If Intel prices it right, this could become seriously troublesome for ARM. ARM licensees will need to step up their game a few notches.

    Lexington's single core, and already selling...so i guess they'll showcase Bay Trail derivatives!

    Unless this is about Clover Trail+, which i now suspect as i write this sentence...
