SW: TOR Collector's Edition Will be Jam-Packed

Thursday BioWare and EA revealed plans to launch three editions of the upcoming MMOG, Star Wars: The Old Republic. One version will be geared for the gamer who doesn't care about the extra trinkets and doo-dads, just straight-up gameplay. One will be fitted for the digital gamer and one will be jam-packed for the die-hard collector who probably still has the original Millennium Falcon toy released by Kenner in 1979 perched on a shelf (cough)... you know who you are.

The Collector's Edition includes a host of virtual in-game and physical items for the ultimate Star Wars fan. Physical items include a Darth Malgus Statue from Gentle Giant, the journal of Jedi Master Gnost Dural from Chronicle Books, The Music of The Old Republic soundtrack, a security key and a map of the in-game Star Wars galaxy. Virtual items include a Flare Gun, Training Droid, personal HoloDancer, HoloCam, the STAP vehicle and access to the Collector's Store, an in-game store with new in-game items exclusively for owners of the Collector's Edition. The Collector's Edition will also include 30 days of game time and has an MSRP of $149.99 (USD) at participating retailers.

The Collector's Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition and Standard Edition are available for pre-order today at participating retailers, with digital versions available exclusively at Origin. Upon pre-order, players will be granted a redemption code that will unlock early game access as well as an in-game color stone to change their weapon effect. Pre-order quantities are limited and Early Game Access will only be available to those who pre-order the game and redeem their code before the game's official release.So far, the Collector's Edition is already sold out at Origin.com.

Unfortunately, the dancers in TOR are pretty poor. IRL, I wouldn't pay for a dance in the cantina.

Who actually buys this crap!?!?!? Why paid for 3x the games actual cost just to play a game? Can someone please explain to me why the fuck I should pay 3x the normal price? Oh yeah, its to pad the pockets of the developers. Well more power to them if someone is dumb enough to pay that much for a game. And I thought console fan boys were bad with $60 games. Its like the idiots who forked out $150 for the DNF Craptacular Edition. They paid 3x the cost for a $15 game.

You're an idiot. Padding the developers pocket? if it's a good game, hell yes I would like to pad their pocket. Keeps them making good games. Why rip people off for their hard work. Besides, buying the collectors edition will give you some stuff that would help you along in game like the vehicle. I know people who spend thousands on their hobby, why not spend 80 for those who's hobby is this game.

What they didn't mention is that Australasia is getting screwed, currently can't Preorder in Australia and we get a delayed release date. So lame there's loads of people in this country that want to spend money on their product and they don't provide for us.
