Super Talent Introduces PCIe and Mini PCIe Flash Modules

Super Talent has introduced its new line of PCIe and Mini PCIe Flash Drive Modules that provide read speeds of up to 350 MB/s and write speeds of up to 220 MB/s. The module's ultra-compact form factor also makes them well suited for use in embedded applications, all-in-one PCs and notebooks and are available in a configurations ranging from 8 to 128 GB.

The CoreStore MV and MP also feature 8-channel Marvell controllers and up to 64MB of DDR2 DRAM for an additional performance boost. You can view the full specifications and associated data sheets at Super Talent's website.

    So, with the stated capacities....and read/write speeds....what exactly is the purpose? They're slower than SATA3 SSDs....and more expensive.
