Thermaltake is on a streak, and after releasing a number of chassis, it is also releasing the Urban S71 enclosure. The Urban S71 enclosure is a mainstream full-tower case.
The chassis is built with a brushed aluminium front door, which hides the optical drives and hard drive bays in style, as well as acoustically dampening the interior sounds a bit with the built in dampening foam. The enclosure also comes with two pre-installed 200 mm fans, whose speeds can be controlled. Beyond the two 200 mm fans, buyers will also find a 120 mm 'turbo' fan in the back. All of the intake fan locations are covered with fan filters to prevent major dust build-up.
Inside the chassis, users will find eight expansion slots, room for up to six hard drives or SSDs, as well as three optical drive bays. The PSU is also bottom mounted and takes its fresh air from below the chassis. Users will also find a rather generous number of cable routing grommets, making neat cable management very possible. The motherboard tray also has a cutout behind the CPU for easy installation of heatsinks without having to remove the motherboard. Graphics cards can measure up to 344 mm long and CPU coolers 160 mm tall.
Potential buyers will find two USB 2.0 ports as well as two USB 3.0 ports on the front panel. Between these there are HD audio ports, above which buyers will find the power and reset switch as well as a hot-swap bay for 2.5" or 3.5" drives.
The Urban S71 chassis will come in two versions: one with a window and the other without. The model without the side window features the option to put sound-dampening foam on the interior of its side panel. Both the units weigh 10.5 Kg.
