Acer climbs to second position in standalone LCD market
According to a report from market research firm DisplaySearch, Acer has become the second largest provider of standalone LCD displays in the North American marketplace. 46 percent growth in unit shipments from the first to the second quarter of this year pushed the company into the second spot of the largest suppliers.
Acer now holds a 5.1 percent market share, while Samsung still holds the top spot with 5.3 percent, according to DisplaySearch. Viewsonic came in third with 3.6 percent, followed by NEC (3.0 percent) and LG (2.0 percent).
Dell remains the largest LCD retailer in North America with a market share of 39.8 percent. HP trails in second place with 9.1 percent, followed by Samsung with 5.3 percent. (THG)
