LG G Pad Priced for UK, Launching Before the Holidays

LG has said that its G Pad tablet, first introduced last month, will be available in the United Kingdom in time for the holiday shopping season. The company yesterday announced that the G Pad will be available across the UK and Ireland via an exclusive partnership with Micro P in the UK and Harvey Norman in Ireland. The device is priced at £259.99 and will arrive at the end of October.

"The introduction of the LG G Pad 8.3 is another great step in design and technology from LG and shows that the G Series is going from strength to strength," said Andy Coughlin, Head of Mobile for LG UK. "Just like the LG G2, the G Pad 8.3 delivers cutting-edge technology in a slim and sleek form, and is just the product for our re-entry into the UK tablet market."

The G Pad packs an 8.3-inch 1920x1200 display, a quad-core Snapdragon 600 chip clocked to 1.7 GHz, 2 GB of LPDDR2 RAM, 16 GB of storage, 1 5-megapixel camera around the back, a 1.3-megapixel camera up front, a 4,600 mAh battery Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

No word on a European pricing, nor did LG provide information on an international roll-out. We'll keep you posted.

Must say, I think the design looks very good, too bad I'm not really in the market for a tablet (probably gonna pick up a bay trail windows 8.1 tablet if anything)

Is this tablet still not weak in comparison to the new nexus 7?

I purchased a G Tab 3 8.0 and I must say the screen resolution is very disappointing. Hopefully this will launch in the US soon. Time to start Posting on Ebay!

I really like LG's user interface. Far more than vanilla android UI, and it doesn't seem that their UI bogs down the device, nor has much crapware to speak of. I love my Optimus G. If LG's update support was just slightly improved, I'd probably grab this thing in a heartbeat (if I were in the market for another android tablet, that is).

Purchased this tablet, LOVE IT. Only downside is Lack of Accessories, but that is to be expected with a new release. The tablet feels very premium, the Screen is amazing. The UI is very minimalistic and Qpair is a dream. I love this thing!!!!

What's is like to hold in your hand? Due to the narrow size?

Its a Delight, I purchased a GTab 8.0 prior to this. Personally the 8inch is the sweet spot for me as far as holding it in one hand. Holding it on the side, or with my hand around the back for portrait view. I also feel holding it in landscape for movies is pretty easy as well.

I chose this one for school, as I stated I bought a Galaxytab 8.0 and it was OK but the Screen Resolution was garbage. This so Far is flawless for me.
