Since the release of AMD's HD 7990 Malta GPU, a number of manufacturers have released their own cards. Meanwhile, two system builders have also announced the option of the HD 7990. The prices of these options are slightly above that of AMD's MSRP.
The HD 7990 features two 28 nm Tahiti chips that are based on the GCN architecture, running at a base clock speed of 950 MHz with a boost speed of 1,000 MHz. In total, the cards each have 4096 stream processors, 256 Texture Mapping Units (TMUs), and 64 Render Output Units (ROPs). Each of the GPUs has 3 GB of GDDR5 memory dedicated to it, bringing the total memory on the 7990's PCBs to 6 GB. The memory runs at 6 GHz, which goes over a 384-bit memory interface.
So far, it is unclear whether either Origin PC or Maingear include the eight free games that come along with the retail version of the HD 7990, although Maingear does mention that it ships with Crysis 3, BioShock Infinite, and Tomb Raider.
Moreover, it also remains unclear whether Origin PC will be liquid cooling the card. Since EK released a water block for the 7990, it is very likely to also be an option on select systems, although it wasn't officially announced.
