Can 19" LCDs Pass the Frag Test?

We measured the uniformity of the panel's lighting.

Again, let's recall the method we use for those who aren't familiar with THG tests. We adjust the panel to 50% brightness and 50% contrast and measure the uniformity of the lighting on a white image divided into 64 areas of equal size. The brightest point is considered 100%, and the value previously measured for black is considered 0%, with the values measured at the other points distributed between the two.

The XL795D has been quite good up to this point in our tests, but here we got a very nice surprise: The XL795D was the most uniform monitor of all the ones we tested. All brightness values are within 15% of the total range. The average for the monitors tested had been between 20% and 25%. There is a slight difference between the upper and lower part of the image, but it's no problem. And above all it's far better than on the rest of the monitors.

In the final analysis, the XL795D is a good static monitor with undeniable qualities. The blacks are deep, the image is uniform and the brightness is good. But the manufacturer says its latency time is 25ms, which is not very promising for a 19" panel.
