    I can't see the point of burning data/media anymore. It made sense before as it was pretty much the only reasonable method of backing up or transferring data. Nowadays we have cheap, easy, and reliable storage solutions and if it is for media purposes any decent modern hardware from PCs to TVs can access it via USB.

    While on the other hand discs are fragile, consumed causing you to eventually need to buy more, and can be quite costly. I have a stack of years old unused blank Cd's and DVDs just sitting around and the same would happen if I bought a blu-ray burner too.
