Valve Kicks Off Steam 2013 Holiday Sale
Credit cards at the ready...
The holidays are a time for splurging, indulging, and generally going a little crazy. Whether that means buying gifts for loved ones, eating just one more piece of pie, or staying in bed for an extra half hour on the weekends, this time of year is definitely a time for treats. In keeping with tradition, Valve is kicking off this year's Steam Holiday Sale with some tantalizing offers.
The Steam 2013 Holiday Sale will run from December 19 to January 3, so you'll still be able to avail yourself of Steam's fantastic daily offers once the leftovers are long gone.
As with previous Steam sales, offers appearing on the website will refresh every 24 hours. Current games on offer are Final Fantasy VII, Far Cry 3, and Crysis 2. Yesterday saw Bioshock Infinite, Metal Gear Rising, Batman Arkham Origins, and Dishonored heavily discounted.
If you'd prefer not to be tempted by all the glorious discounts and are instead holding out for a specific title to go on sale, you can add a game to your Wishlist and receive notification if and when it goes on sale. Happy Holidays!

turbotong Yesterday Far Cry 3 was 50% off, and I bought it for about $15. Now it's 75% off and priced at $7.50...Reply
first world gamer problems. -
Zac Lloyd-Jones Never buy unless its on the daily deals or the flash sales. The other games that are discounted are at that price until the 3rd, so plenty of time to wait and see if it goes down.Reply -
dragonfang18 Remember people WAIT till it goes on a daily or flash sale. They usually do an encore sale at the end if you miss anything! As an alternative I usually go to r/gamedeals and check their updates.Reply -
xkm1948 Just checked my steam account. I have accumulated 30+ games from all these summer/holiday sale events. Yet I still only play tf2 daily. Sad me.Reply -
Stevemeister I too have a ton of games bought in the sales most of which I haven't played but I still buy more and now I gift them to my son - much cheaper than PS3 gamesReply -
SonSon1 What?? Amazon and GMG (and Gamefuly, GamersGate and Nuuvem) have been on holiday sales for days now, with much better prices than Steam.Reply
Get on with the times people, Steam's sales are not longer what they once were. -
The_OGS I got Bioshock Infinite coupla weeks ago for $9.99...Reply
Knocked it off in ~27 hours play. Pretty good, but strange. Glad I didn't pay $59 bucks for it.
Now just yesterday I grabbed FarCry3 for $7.50. It has been downloading overnight. I'll let ya know... -
back_by_demand It's not so much the games as the game packs that get the best deals, I still remember only paying 6.66 for the Doom Pack by ID, most amazing deal everReply
