CES 2007: Vutec to show off Tri-Plex screen

Pre CES show coverage - Pompano Beach (FL) - Vutec will be showing at CES a three-way monitor that provides users with an anamorphic widescreen view of standard and high definition content. In effect, the "Vision XFT Tri-Plex screen" promises to eliminate black bars on the screen while still maintaining a complete image for the 2.35:1 Cinemascope aspect ratio, as well as regular 16:9 widescreen and 4:3 ratios.

With the shift to home theater becoming an increasing obsession in the US, one of the biggest overlooked features is anamorphic widescreen viewing, which is how most feature films are originally filmed.
