There was a time when Google's Chromebooks were only available in few select places. Since then, the company has diversified (no doubt in an attempt to shift more units), and the laptops are available in brick and mortar retail stores as well on online through sites like Amazon. This week, Google announced that it would be tripling the number of stores offering Chromebooks around the world.
Google is upping the number of shops carrying the laptops to 6,600 worldwide. In the UK, shoppers could already hit up Dixons for their Chromebook fix. With Google's latest expansion, 116 Tesco stores are being added to the list of places you can buy a Chromebook. Unfortunately for the big spenders out there, the Chromebook Pixel is not yet available in the UK, so you're stuck with the more affordable and budget friendly Acer C7 and Samsung XE303.
The C7 is the slightly cheaper of the two and is priced at £200. It's based on a Celeron 847 and packs 2 GB of RAM, an 11.6-inch TFT display, two cameras (one in the front and one in the back), and, of course, Google's Chrome OS. The Samsung XE303 is slightly more expensive at £230 and packs an 11.-inch LED display, a 1.7 GHz Samsung Exynos chipset, 2 GB of RAM, and two cameras.
