German manufacturer Cooltek has announced the availability of the Antiphon lineup of enclosures. The aim of this lineup is to be affordable yet possess a high level of quality. Part of the high-quality appeal would be simplistic aesthetics together with plentiful sound-dampening material.
The enclosure would be comprised of a combination of steel, plastic and brushed aluminum. Inside the enclosure there is room for up to four 120 mm fans, four 3.5" drives, four 2.5" drives, three optical drives, up to ATX size motherboards and a standard ATX size power supply. External connectivity is taken care of by a single USB 3.0 port, a single USB 2.0 port and a pair of HD audio ports. The enclosure also has a built-in fan controller that has two settings, likely 12 V and 5 V.
The enclosure itself weighs a hefty 8 kg, but one and a half of those kilograms are all sound-dampening material. The Antiphon enclosures measure 445 x 195 x 500 mm. The longest graphics card can be up to 320 mm long.
The enclosures will be available in white, black, silver and anthracite. They will ship with either no power supply or a 550 W or 650 W power supply. Pricing ranges from €65 up to €130, which translates to roughly $85 to $170.
