FREE: Mass Effect 2 DLC Free On Launch Day

Mass Effect 2 fans are in for a treat. According to a Twitter posting from BioWare's official Mass Effect 2 stream, there will be no charge for any new Mass Effect 2 content on launch day.

Mass Effect 2 is set to launch on January 26 and seeing as how that tweet was from January 15, it looks like we're going to find out more about the DLC this week. Exciting!

Now, is there anyone who doesn't love free stuff?

I'm not sure if you got it right, it's just the DLC that's free, not the game.

Wait...they are releasing DLC when the game launches? Why didn't they just incorporate it into the game then! Geez game developers are getting lazy and greedy.

Are we talking all the DLC? Including the armor and weapons and such? Because that would be pretty amazing.

Gamers should be outraged by this!!! It almost makes me want to pirate the damn thing, burn it to a DVD, and send it to them with a giant FU letter attached (no return address of course)!

  • For everyone that gets angry about DLC not being in the normal game- The game has to be finished tested and sent off to be produced months before it is released. Anything they do after that is DLC (sometimes even by different teams)- So what they are doing is saying if you buy the game on launch you get everything they've added in the last few months for free.

with team fortress two, or half life, or most pc games, it's called a PATCH

with these new console first games, its called a paid DLC, gooooo piracy.

    Exactly

Anyone that has been following this game knows that the developers have stated several times they had content that they wanted to include in the initial retail release but was unable to because of certain deadlines. Therefore if you buy the game new you get access to certain DLC for free.

It's from Bioware, I'd probably pay for it even if it wasnt free..

  • And didn't you notice .. this only applies to those who BUY THE GAME ON RELEASE DAY. Anyone who buys later, will have to pay for the DLC.
