Nvidia GTX 550 Ti Specs, Price Leaked
Several online retailers are already listing Nvidia GeForce GTX 500 Ti cards.
Softpedia reports that numerous European online retailers are already listing Nvidia's yet unreleased GeForce GTX 550 Ti graphics card, indicating that it will be an overclocked version of Nvidia's previous GTS 450 release which featured a GF116 core manufactured with the 40-nm process.
One GTX 550 Ti card offered by PNY is listed here, featuring 1024 MB of GDDR5 on-board memory, a core clock of 900 MHz and native support for DirectX 11. Other features include a 128-bit memory interface, a shader clock of 1800 MHz, 192 stream processors, shader model 5.0 and 32 texture units. The memory bandwidth has increased from 57.5 GB/s offered in the original GTS 450, to 65.5 GB/s in the current card.
Additionally, the GeForce GTX 550 Ti will feature a dual-slot form factor, have a maximum power consumption of 110W, and support HDCP and SLI. The card is expected to be nearly equal to the Radeon HD 5770 in terms of performance and slower than the Nvidia GTX 460 card with 768 MB of memory.
Currently the card is listed around $216 USD, depending on the vendor. This is higher than the GTX 460 which retails around $150 USD or more. But as Softpedia points out, many retailers list unreleased hardware higher than the recommended prices offered by the manufacturers.
As the card hasn't been officially announced, we'll have to play the "wait and see" game in regards to actual pricing, availability and specs.

AMD_pitbull Sorry, but, an overclocked 450? not much of an upgrade. Grab a 460 or 6850. Spend the couple of extra bucks, get a LOT more bang, and when those cards start to lose their luster, grab a second for crossfire/SLIReply -
amk09 If this is true and it performs like a 5770, why the hell would anyone pay $216 for this when you can crossfire TWO 5770's for $200?Reply
This can't be true. There is no way they would OC the 450(which sells for $100) and then double the price. If anyone actually buys this they are mental. -
alextheblue thejermReally? 128-bit memory interface? That doesn't look good. The 128-bit memory interface isn't the only problem. The issue here is that the card is just an overclocked GTS 450, so if they don't price it really cheap it will flop. A 1GB 5770 can be had for well under $140.Reply
However, I think that the pricing given in the article is completely bogus. The article might as well have just said "pricing is unknown, and currently the only pricing we have is some random useless vendor list prices which are waaaay the *$ off the mark". I doubt it will retail for above $130.
soldier37another poor mans card, no thanks. AMD 6990 4Gb ftw at 2560 x 1600 res.Why hello thar Mr. Troll. -
jerreece $216? WTF is nVidia thinking?? It performs like a 5770, and less than a GTX 460 at over $200?Reply
Goodness gracious, someone @ nVidia was hanging out with Charlie Sheen this weekend or something, because they've lost their mind... -
megamanx00 I guess we'll have to wait to see what the final price is. I just bought a 5770 for my spare PC for $119 on new egg. If it's only as fast as the 5770 and can't compete at that price I doubt nVidia will move too many of these cards.Reply -
helmutcheese The smaller interface is not an issue as GDDR5 is 4x not 2x like GDDR2/3 i.e. a GTX 480 if memory is 4000mhz really is 1000mhz x 4 but if it was GDDR2 it would be 2000mhz x 2.Reply
