Apple Confirms LTE iPad Mini Shipping Next Week

When Apple announced the iPad mini, it only gave a ship date for the WiFi-only version. As far as the WiFi+LTE model was concerned, Apple would only say that it would ship a few weeks after the WiFi-only model, in the middle of November. It seems those that ordered the WiFi+LTE model will have their shiny new tablets sometime in the second week of November.

AppleInsider writes that pre-order customers are receiving notification from Apple via email that LTE iPad mini shipments will begin in the next five business days. However, despite confirming that customers' iPads will soon be on their way, Apple didn't provide customers with a delivery date in the email. The Cupertino-based company said it would provide customers with a tracking number and carrier once their package had been shipped.

The iPad mini boasts a 7.9-inch display with the same 1024x768 resolution as the iPad 2, an A5 chip (just like the iPhone 4S), a front-facing camera for video calls, a 5-megapixel camera on the back, Apple's new Lightning connector, and iOS 6. It starts at $329 for the entry-level model with WiFi and 16GB of storage. The 32GB and 54GB WiFi-only models cost $429 and $529, respectively. Adding in LTE will jack the 16GB model's price up to $459. The 32GB and 54GB WiFi+4G models cost $549 and $649.

Holy crap that is insane. Why don't you just tether it to your Android smartphone with Foxfi and it won't cost you a cent?
