Red-Hot Stuff: 11 DVD Burners Reviewed
Discs And DVDs Used, Continued
All drives had to write our self-generated movie image to these two RWs.
A total of nine discs from various manufacturers were used to check the read compatibility of the burners. To do this, the self-generated movie image was written to the test discs. The time between when the tray closed and the first possible access in Windows was clocked, along with the duration of the read process (as with the originals).
These are the CDs we used in the test to measure read performance. On the bottom left is the original, a software CD from a recent issue of c't magazine. Beside it are copies of it on CD-R (Sony) and CD-RW (Verbatim).

Very informative review. Tedious reading and loading it though...It would have been nice to see a chart or graph at the end of the article with all the drives together. This loading page after page after page sucks big time. too much other crap. Otherwise, I did find what I was looking for. Thanks Tom's Hardware!Reply
