Steam Exploration Sale Now Live, Goes Until November 30
It wouldn't be the holidays without a Steam Sale, and the first one of the season -- called the "Exploration Sale" -- drops the day before Thanksgiving.
This time around, a specific genre or series isn't the main target. Instead, discounts can be found all over the store, from small indie titles to some of the biggest games to date. Obviously, Valve will highlight a few choices on the front page, but if you have a growing Wishlist of games in your account, chances are some of them will be on sale.
A big difference between this current sale and past events is that there won't be any daily deals, flash sales, or community voting to decide the next game to be put on sale. This is a new approach for the company, as some customers in the past have waited until the last minute for the best deals, but this time around the prices stay the same for the entire duration.
Speaking of which, the Exploration Sale will go on through the Black Friday weekend and end on (Cyber) Monday, November 30 at 10 am PST.

dstarr3 There's a good chunk of games that are 75-90% off at the moment. Those are definitely worth hopping on now, because they'll either not be on the Christmas sale, or they'll be on sale again for the same amount. So, go nuts if there's a game you want with that deep a discount.Reply
But, the games that are 50% or below, eh, hold out. The Christmas sale is a month away and it should be better than that. -
Led Weappelin I wonder if Battlefield Bad Company2 suffers with crashes on Steam like it does on Origin? For $4.99 I may just find out.Reply -
fancarolina Correction to above article. Steam Exploration Sale ends Dec 1 at 10am PST. It even says this in the graphic you used in the article.Reply -

I think what they meant is that the 30th is the last day the sales will be active. December 1st is the day they stop. -
cynicoren Do you think it's better wait with card series conversion (in order to get bonus sale cards, as in previous sales) ?Reply
Thanks -

I played it for more than 120 hrs, I can't recall any problems or crashes.

BulkZerker "Exploration sale" sounds like they included a metagame in their sale again and won't list games that are on sale in a neat list... AGAIN!Reply
Looks like steam just lost out on a wallet... AGAIN! -
