Compared to the 939-pin Athlon X2's pictured here, all AM2 processors consume less power. While the new chips are rated at 35 watts (low power 3800+), 65 watts (3800+ to 4600+) and 89 watts (4800+), the 939s consume 89 watts (3800+ to 4600+) and 110 watts

The aging single-core Athlon 64s and Semprons are also transitioned to socket AM2. The Semprona lso receives 64-bit capability and serves as the entry-level model, starting at 1000-unit prices of $77 (3000+).
