Six Athlon Boards With The KT600 Chipset
Benchmarks Under Windows XP
We used several difference benchmark tests to give a broad and balance picture of performance for these VIA KT600 chipset mainboards. The benchmark results of five different boards give a more transparent overview.
We measure OpenGL performance with four various Quake 3 tests - Direct3D performance stemming from the DirectX package is measured using 3D Mark 2001 SE (based on DirectX 8). Using MainConcept 1.3, we also convert a DV video (1.2 GB in size) into a file in MPEG 2 format. Our standard repertoire includes measuring rendering performance with 3D Studio Max Version 5.1. Data packing is also highly relevant in practice. We now do this with WinRAR Packer 3.11. Finally, SiSoft Sandra 2003 SP1 is an absolute must. We also include the established 3D games for DirectX 8, Unreal Tournament 2003 and Comanche 4. PC Mark 2002 is interesting for overclockers looking for comparable values as a reference for overclocking success.
