PCIe Scaling Results: Clear Sky And World In Conflict
The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky benchmark shows slightly lower-than-average performance losses due to reduced bandwidth, although a moderate weakness for the P55’s x4 slot is still a weakness.
Adding AA puts things back into perspective, with the P55’s x4 slot killing 45% of the graphic’s cards performance at our highest test resolution.
Most users probably wouldn’t notice the difference between x16 and x8 transfer mode when playing World in Conflict, and would probably notice only a small difference when using a four-lane slot on an X58 motherboard. On the other hand, using the P55’s x4 slot results in an extreme performance loss.
