For this test we use a 1:1 copy of the original CD mentioned earlier. The TDK CD-R80 Metallic media provides us with the following ATIP information:

In this test the nominally faster GCE-8480B cannot improve upon the performance of the 40x drive. Other drives like the Yamaha CRW-F1UX, for example, do a little better here. However, the LG Electronics drive has the advantage of a fast access time.
