EVGA Sets Four New 3DMark Records

EVGA has set four new 3DMark records using the GTX Titan and some very impressive overclocking.

Last week we showed you that Asus had set some 3DMark records with the GTX Titan. It ran benchmarks in both two-way and four-way SLI, and now it seems that the two-way SLI benchmark has been beaten.

EVGA has taken two GTX Titans, installed them on its upcoming X79 Dark Motherboard, and used its Precision X 4.0 to overclock the graphics cards.

The results are as follows:

  • 3DMark Fire Strike (SLI) = 22,054
  • 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme (SLI) = 11,559
  • 3DMark Fire Strike (Single Card) = 14,600
  • 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme (Single Card) = 7,308
     

All of these numbers are new records. Take, for example, Asus' record last week: Asus managed to score 21,818 points in the Fire Strike test using two GTX Titans. EVGA managed to score 236 points more, making for 22,054 points. The difference might not be big, but it is still a record. Do note, though, for this score to be accomplished EVGA had to overclock the GPU to a staggering 1,672 MHz.

    I wonder how stable the GPU overclock is. Doubt it could handle a few hours of heavy gaming without some aftermarket cooling.

    I guarantee that those beats are cooled by a compressor or by liquid nitrogen

    Not really sure if its fair that they broke records on a motherboard that hasn't even been released yet, so they could have some kind of unfair advantage with it. Maybe I'm wrong but just throwing it out there.

    You'd have to be clinically insane to even approach a 200% OC on stock cooling (or even water, for that matter). These records are almost universally achieved with liquid nitrogen or even liquid helium on zombied cards (i.e. extensively modified with additional VRMs, etc.), and are for the sole purpose of benchmarking, nothing more.

    PinheddI guarantee that those beats are cooled by a compressor or by liquid nitrogenI would agree, if you look at the screenshot Precision X is reporting 0C, so its probably sub zero and out of the sensors range. However that is not the point of this, this is a world record, and a beautiful one, they really got a hefty overclock on those cards!
