Pantech Announces World's Largest Full HD Smartphone

As expected, Pantech has announced the world's largest full HD smartphone: the 5.9-inch Vega No. 6.

The Vega's screen boasts a Natural IPS Pro LCD panel with a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution. At 5.9-inches, the device is the world's largest full HD smartphone. At 6.1-inches, Huawei's Ascend Mate holds the title of the device with the world's largest phone screen, but it's limited to 720p, as echoed in our hands-on CES impressions of the device.

As for the Vega No. 6, it's powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU accompanied by an Adreno 320 GPU, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of on-board storage and MicroSDXC support for expanding the memory up to 2 TB. It'll run on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with Flux UX.

A 13-megapixel rear-facing camera is also on board, as is a front-facing 2-megapixel lens, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, GPS, T-DMB (a mobile television service for South Korean consumers), USB 2.0 and a 3,140 mAh battery. Elsewhere, the Vega No. 6 houses an accelerometer, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, gyroscope and electronic compass.

The Vega No. 6 will launch in Korea next month for 849,000 won, which is around $795. Expect a global variant unveiling during the Mobile World Congress in late February.

You can easily spot the kissless virgins by the comical size of their phones.

All is good but I think:

    Biggest full HD.
As stated in the article, Huawei Ascend Mate is 6.1 but only 720p, that's just HD not full HD.

^ Full HD, 1920x1080...as is appropriate in this size class. The Ascend Mate's low resolution screen is lacking for a device its size in 2013. This Pantech looks like a pretty slick device. ...but hopefully, the Note 3 will add a removable battery to the recipe.

Records are there to be beaten ... but at the end of the day, will it sell?
Would a car manufacturer advertise on "the heavyest family car of the wold" or "this car has the biggest Dashboard buttons ever" ?
