LG Philips wins $5 billion deal for HP LCDs

LG Philips announced today that it signed an over $5 billion three-year deal to supply HP with flat panel displays. The displays, provided by the world's #2 flat screen maker, will be used in notebook monitors and desktop LCD displays by HP through May 2008. A deal of this size represents nearly 20% of LG Philips' revenue, and is sure to fuel the fire in their competitive efforts against market giant Samsung.
