Mortal Kombat X Confirmed with Trailer

After weeks of teasing through tweets, Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon has officially announced the next Mortal Kombat. "The name of the game is "Mortal Kombat X," stated Boon on his Twitter.

For the last month, Boon has been dropping hints about this game. One of the hints was a series of countdown tweets, that stated, "Square root of 841" and "How many days in (non-leap-year) February? The answer to the former is 29, and the answer to the latter is 28. Now, exactly 29 days since Boon has made those tweets (on May 4th), he's announced the game.

Mortal Kombat X will be coming to Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and the PC. Apparently, this entry in the series will have an online portion that will feature a "persistent online contest where every fighter matters in a global battle for supremacy."

Wow with a trailer like that I'm pretty sure they just skipped designing the game themselves and hired the marketing team to do it.

They need to bring back the actors like the first Mortal Combat games. They ruined it when they switched to purely 3D models.

Agreed with actors comment. A little adventure mode would be nice too.

Looks pretty amazing. The motion is fluid. The special effects are modern. Hopefully the actual gameplay looks like this. I like the slow-mo affects, but it could throw off your timing in a real match. I guess you'd get used to it.

That is not game play, there are very few game trailers that look this good and end up actually look like that when released. Companies usually use CGI "movies" for their trailers to create hype it's not new.

Did you see some of the stutter? I'm not so sure the game can't look this good. They are getting to the point where graphics can look this good with the right hardware.
