Razer, Hasbro Launch Transformers PC Peripherals

Razer has teamed up with Habro to launch a Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon Collector’s Edition product line in conjunction with the release of the third movie on DVD and Blu-ray. This new collection of peripherals includes four unique Razer DeathAdder mice representing Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron, and Shockwave, a dual-sided Razer Vespula mouse mat, and laptop cases available in the four iconic Transformers brand colors.

"The Transformers franchise has never been more mind-blowing.  Especially now with the Transformers: Dark of the Moon movie, a blockbuster hit across the globe," said Robert Krakoff, President, Razer USA.  "Fans, whether long-time or newcomers thanks to the films, will love the Transformers product line we’ve designed.  It’ll give you our best gaming-grade peripherals wrapped up in the designs of the famed robot universe."

According to Razer, the mice (US $59.99 / EU €59.99 each) features a 3500dpi 3.5G infrared sensor, 1000Hz Ultrapolling with 1ms response time, 5 Hyperesponse buttons, and On-the-Fly sensitivity adjustments. The gaming mat (US $34.99 / EU €34.99) provides two distinct gaming-grade surfaces on an abrasion-resistant hard coat: SPEED for smoother fast-paced action, maximizing freedom of movement; and CONTROL for ultra-precise movements and tactile feedback with its textured surface.

Finally, the Transformers 3-themed Razer Laptop Case (US $49.99 / EU €49.99) is made of a flexible hard weave with a zip seal. It stores laptops up to 15-inches, provides a padded inner lining for laptop scratch protection, straps to securely fasten the laptop for travel, and comes in red, yellow, silver and purple. They'll even sport a metallic logo of Autobots or Decepticons emblazoned right on front, depending on your preferred robotic team.

"Powerful technology in spectacularly designed hardware – that’s what both the Transformers franchise and Razer have in common," said Joe Keane, VP Brand Licensing for the Americas, Hasbro. "And that’s why this collaboration is something fans of the brand and gamers alike will seriously enjoy."

Razer's entire Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon Collector’s Edition product line is now available here in the States, and will go live for the rest of the world in Q4 2011 (which technically should be any day now).

Now that Hasbro is involved, can we expect a "My Little Pony" mouse? Or perhaps one made of Play-Doh that you can reshape to fit your hand.

    Movie Transformers? DO NOT WANT.

Come on, Hasbro. Do it right, young ones don't have the money! It's us, the old ones, that do! xD

    Cheers!

Just one group of items in a very long retail marketing list associated with the film. If memory serves I think Star Wars holds the record for retail marketing.

They had a whole section with Hello Kitty peripherals.
