ADI Microscan G910
ADI monitors have not always had a reputation for good quality, but now there's the G910 with its FD Trinitron tube to silence the critics. It has a flat screen with a constant pitch of 0.24 mm. The options are a bit above average since it has an integrated microphone and a USB hub. ADI monitors with a Trinitron tube come with Color Wizard, a program for maximum adjustment and color profile creation. The bandwidth is 229.5 MHz and the refresh rate 110 kHz, giving it a theoretical rate of 87 Hz in 1600x1200, which is pretty good. In practice, it reaches 88 Hz at this resolution and 73 Hz in 1920x1440.
The geometry is fairly compliant, up to 1600x1200. Few adjustments are required for an acceptable result. There are a handful of trapezoid deformations beyond this resolution, so it's best not to go any higher. The G910's OSD is fairly comprehensive, though it doesn't have purity adjustment by zone, and it is not easy to browse, since it only has three buttons. On the other hand, there is a wealth of options, notably horizontal and vertical moiré adjustment. In any case, the moiré is not bad and the colors are pretty much the same over the entire surface. Readability is what you'd expect of a Trinitron, and color rendering is more than correct. It is not bad in brightness and contrast, though not up to the standards of the ViewSonic P95f.
