OCZ intros honeycomb heatspreader for DDR memory

Next news
4:23 PM - October 25, 2005 by The Editors of Tom's Hardware

Performance memory company OCZ today announced a new heatspreader for some of its DDR devices. The honeycomb design enhances airflow "by means of micro-convection throughout what is usually the dead air space inside conventional heatspreader designs," OCZ said. The new spreader offers increased ventilation and heat dissipation, which results in an overall more stable memory operation, according to the company.

The heatspreader is available for the PC-3200 Gold GX (DDR400) and PC-3500 Gold GX (DDR433) series. Both memories offer CL 2-2-2-5 timings. There was no pricing information.
