LoveFilm Signs Multi-Year Deal with Fox

Amazon's LoveFilm has just inked yet another deal, this one with Twentieth Century Fox. The company today announced a major multi-year content partnership giving LOVEFiLM members streaming access to recent and forthcoming movies and TV series from Fox. LoveFilm's members will have exclusive access to what the company is calling 'the second pay television window' of 20th Century Fox movies as well as Sons of Anarchy, all seasons of 24, Prison Break, Buffy, and Angel.

If you're expecting to see a boatload of 20th Century Fox movies when you next fire up LoveFilm, you should probably know that the company has said that the film deal commences with titles theatrically released in the UK in 2011 and will be made available to subscribers "as early as March 2013." So, it'll still be a while before you're watching your favourite flicks from last year in your living room. The TV content will be available a lot sooner, with LoveFilm highlighting a July 2012 availability date.

The news comes hot on the heels of LoveFilm's launch of HD streaming in the UK. Since the beginning of June, LoveFilm Instant customers in the UK have been able to view content in full 1080p high definition via Mac or PC. Members using their Xbox 360 or Samsung and LG connected HDTVs are still watching at 720p resolution.
