ATI top-end GPUs to win back 'channel leadership'

ATI's next-generation desktop graphics processor, R520, has already been claimed to have been scheduled for a June launch, but a leaked channel roadmap suggests we can expect to see the RV530 following not long after and the RV515 in the Autumn.

If the presentation slide - which is marked with the slogan "Regaining channel leadership", implying ATI has lost it - containing the roadmap is accurate and up to date, ATI's high-end chips will sport twin PCI Express and AGP interfaces. ATI currently offers separate versions of its Radeon X850 chips with either the old or the new interconnect technology. PCI-E parts can also gain AGP 8x support through the company's 'Rialto' bridge chip.
