Viewsonic Set to Unveil 22-inch Tablet at Computex
ViewSonic will be showing a 22-inch Android tablet at the upcoming Computex tradeshow in Taipei.
It won't be the kind of tablet you will be carrying around in your briefcase or backback, but is pitched as a "smart business tablet monitor" - a commercial touchscreen monitor to the older crowd among us - that could target the interaction between businesses and their customers.
The tablet will reportedly run Android Ice Cream Sandwich, while a version with Windows 8 will be available as well. There is no further information at this time and we will have to wait until the official unveiling on June 5 to learn more. However, it is reasonable to assume that the "Touch&Connect" screen will at least run a resolution of 1080p or 1440p.

This seems like a tough market to enter, since almost all places I've seen that use touchscreens to allow for customer interaction use iPads with customized software. Pretty much every company at the Chicago auto show used iPads. -
bill gates is your daddy I would carry that thing around in a backpack and whip it out while I was in Starbucks so all the itard hipsters could bask in my 22" glory.Reply -
zaznet iPads are all the rage but it's tough to argue against a larger screen and higher resolution with a tablet that is customer facing. Larger screen size also has benefits with continuous all-day use reducing worker strain.Reply -

Um, more than twice as big with half the resolution. What's a comfortable working distance for it? Longer than your arms? 22" seems just plain silly for a tablet. And what the heck are you going to carry it around in? It isn't all that portable. -
datawrecker Thought of this two years ago. I didn't classify it as a tablet. I called it a Slab.Reply -

1080p is 2MP and 1440P is 4MP. 2048x1536 (aka a 4x3 2K resolution) is 3MP. If it is 1440P, then it will have about 30% more pixels. If it is 1080p, then it will have about 30% fewer pixels. Either way, the latest iPad isn't far off in either direction and most certainly does win at pixel density, but half the resolution? You seem to have very poor math skills. Not even 1080p is close to being half of 2K and 1440p is greater than 2K. Most people know that 3 (going by MP count) is not twice as much as 2 and is not even close to being twice as much as 4, let alone any greater than 4 at all.
Also, I'm surprised if you can't realize that you can carry something like this in a backpack or a briefcase type of container very easily.
