Eurocom M590K Emperor Graphics Performance Charts

As might be expected, running 3DMark05 at 1024x768, the Eurocom M590K with its two Nvidia GeForce Go 7800 SLI-linked graphics processors outperforms both Dell's XPS M1710 with a single 7900 GTX adapter and Eurocom's D900K with a single 7800 GTX adapter.

The Eurocom M590K does very well running 3DMark05 at higher resolution. Note, however, that the M590K's highest resolution is 1680x1050, lower by about 152K pixels than the 1600x1200 resolution 3DMark05 was set at for the Dell XPS M1710 and Eurocom D900K

The Doom 3 results seem surprising. The reason? Doom 3 is a CPU dependent game. Even though the M590K has two SLI-linked graphics processors, its AMD Turion MT-40 2.2 GHz CPU is less powerful than the AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ 2.4 GHz CPU in the Eurocom D900

Again the impact of the M590K's lower powered processor can be seen, especially when you consider that the other two notebooks were tested at a display resolution of 1600x1200 and the highest resolution the M590K could be tested at in Doom 3 was 1280x1024

The advantages of the M590K's dual SLI graphics processors begin to show in the game Black & White 2, especially with anti-aliasing set to maximum.

At higher resolutions and even though running at only 1680x1050 the M590K's two SLI-linked 7800 GTX graphics processors give it little advantage over the Dell's single 7900 GTX processor in Black & White.

F.E.A.R. proves to be a good differentiator between the three graphics processor solutions. The best performance increase is with 4x anti-aliasing and 8x anisotropic filtering.

At higher resolutions the Emperor rules when running F.E.A.R. whether with or without AA and AF. Even allowing for the M590K's lower resolution, this is very impressive performance.

Now let's switch to PCMark05. Here you can see the near parity of the processors in the Dell and the Eurocom D900K and the relative slowness of the M590K's CPU.

Memory performance depends on CPU performance. That's what we see here.

There are no disk performance surprises here. Each notebook's drive performs as you might expect given its specs.
