Power And Efficiency
ASRock’s Fatal1ty P67 Professional leads our power charts by having the lowest load power consumption, while Asus’ P8P67 EVO drops to the bottom by having the highest load power consumption. The differences are noticeable on a chart, but probably wouldn’t be on most people’s power bills.
ASRock’s cheaper P67 Extreme6 voltage regulator sink appears to be slightly more effective than that of its stylish, milled aluminum Fatal1ty P67 Professional part. Asus’ P87P67 Deluxe also kept its cool.
Performance differences this small mean that efficiency is based almost entirely upon power consumption.
Notice that the efficiency chart scale is only -4% to +3%. The P8P67 EVO is only 3.9% below class-average in efficiency, while the Fatal1ty P67 Professional is only 2.42% above class-average.
