Acer has announced two new additions to its smartphone lineup with the Android-powered Liquid E1 and Z2.
The Liquid E1 is a mid range device that has a 4.5-inch qHD (960 x 540) screen and an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. It's powered by a dual-core 1 GHz CPU, has 1 GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel camera and a 1,760 mAh battery. Although 3G HSPA was integrated instead of LTE support, a model that is compatible with dual SIM cards will be available.
The Liquid Z2, meanwhile, is an entry level smartphone that features a 3.5-inch HVGA (480 x 320) display. It's powered by a 1 GHz CPU and 512 MB of RAM, with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean installed. It'll be available with either a 3-megapixel or 5-megapixel camera, accompanied by a 1,300 mAh battery. The camera offers a continuous shooting mode, which supports up to 99 shots. The device will also come in a variant that supports dual SIM cards.
The Liquid E1 and Z2 will both feature GPS, a microSD card slot, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi and an FM radio. It'll launch throughout Europe sometime during 2013, although release dates have yet to be revealed. Acer will announce details on availability and price at a later date.
