Samsung's Rugged Galaxy S4 Active Hitting UK in Summer

Samsung has confirmed that the UK will be getting the brand new Galaxy S4 Active this coming summer. Confirmed just today, rumors of the Galaxy S4 Active have been doing the rounds since before the original S4 was released. The dust-proof, water-resistant S4 was confirmed this morning and it looks like outdoorsy types in the UK will see this phone hitting shelves very soon.

Crave reports receiving confirmation from Samsung that the device will arrive in the United Kingdom this summer, just in time for those trips to the beach. The Galaxy S4 Active has qualified protection from dust and water (IP67) and sports a full sealed design to keep dust particles out and protect against water damage for up to 30 minutes of submergence at a depth of one meter. There's also a water-resistant earphone jack and an 'Aqua Mode' for better quality underwater images and video.

Specswise, you're looking at a 1.9 GHZ Quad-Core processor and a 5.0-inch full HD TFT LCD screen (443 PPI) working alongside an 8-megapixel camera. These aren't exactly the same specs as the regular S4, which comes with a 13-megapixel camera and as much as an octa-core CPU in some regions. That said, it's not exactly an underpowered phone either.

With the Galaxy S4 Active, Samsung now has three iterations of its flagship smartphone including the original and the S4 Mini. The company is set to add a third later this month with the launch of an unlocked S4 running stock Android.

It is quite laughable to be in the year of 2013 and still see people bitching about the internal storage of smartphones. Hell, there is even a petition going to make Samsung release the 32GB and 64GB versions of the S4 as they for some strange reason refuse to release them.
It is quite obvious that quite a lot of people want a phone with more that 100GB of internal storage. With the advent of high-resolution video cameras and apps in the size of over 2GB each it would be about time to release something even bigger than that.
How about 256GB and 512GB versions of the phone with an additional hot swappable FullSDXC slot (or two) in it? We saw this in ultra-small laptops over 5 years ago!

Seems that apart from the way it looks and of course the fact that it's dust and waterproof there is not much seoarating the standard s4 from the s4 active.
check out this article for details on the things that sets them apart : http://androidfact.com/galaxy-s4-vs-s4-active/
