Paradox Launches Mesmer Games
Paradox Interactive announced that it's "value priced" branch is now officially open for business. Called Mezmer Games, the new label will focus on helping independent developers "reach a large audience through digital distribution and alternative channels." Titles published under the Mezmer Games -ranging from action to strategy to adventure- will cost between $9.99 - $19.99. “Our intention is to be a platform for great games that traditional publishers do not want to invest their time and money in," said Fredrik Wester, Executive Vice President of Paradox Interactive. "By exclusively releasing the products digitally, we’ll be able to deliver many niche and developing titles to an audience that would otherwise be unable to purchase the products.”
BioWare Reveals All Six Dragon Age Origin Stories
The famed developer let it all hang out today, uncovering the details on all six Origin Stories featured in the upcoming dark fantasy game Dragon Age: Origins. According to BioWAre, each Origin Story boasts several hours of unique gameplay, offering multiple beginnings - a first in a BioWare game. Each Origin Story starts the player off with a unique series of locations, characters, and events that "establish their motivations and lay the groundwork for the adventure to come." Players begin as one of the following characters: Dalish Elf, City Elf, Dwarf Commoner, Dwarf Noble, Mage, and Human Noble.
New Singularity Video
Activision has a new video loaded up over on YouTube, adding another "piece to the puzzle" from Raven Software's upcoming alternate reality game, Singularity. The game revolves around a time manipulation device, reminiscent of TimeShift although the protagonist apparently can move through large gaps of time. Titan Online Closed Beta Next Week
EYA Interactive's upcoming martial arts MMORPG Titan Online goes into closed beta next week, launching on February 18. The game is based on the korean best-selling novel, "Mo Siang," and combines martial arts and mysterious world in a fantasy setting. " Set in ancient China, players will experience historic Chinese locales, meet influential figures from various dynasties, experience mysterious aspects of various ancient Asian cultures, all while trying to save the martial arts world by engaging in intense real-time battles."
