Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Gets a Date
2K Games and Gearbox Software announced on Thursday the release date for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel as October 14, 2014 in the United States and October 17, 2014 internationally. The game will arrive on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC.
Unlike Borderlands and Borderlands 2, this third "Pre-Sequel" installment will take place on Pandora's moon, meaning gamers will have to deal with low gravity. This game, which has a story set between the two already published, will include oxygen-propelled jetpacks, new weapons, enemies, vehicles, and moon environments. There will also be all-new character classes with "unique" skill trees.
"Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel continues the franchise's tradition of industry-leading co-op allowing friends to play together locally via split-screen as well as online with drop-in-drop-out capabilities," states the PR. "With co-op being as seamless as ever, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel remains accessible for gamers and their friends to play alone or together in a variety of configurations."
2K Games reports that customers who pre-purchase The Pre-Sequel will receive the Shock Drop Slaughter Pit bonus content. This content pack takes place in an old Dahl facility on Pandora's moon, and introduces players to a former (and crazy) Dahl military recruiter named TR4-NU. This content pack will include "zero-atmosphere combat against the fiercest enemies Pandora's moon has to offer," and will reward players with unique in-game loot.
