Transcend: 8Gb NAND flash chip prices to drop 45% this year

Leading Taiwan memory module maker Transcend Information predicts that the price of NAND flash will drop dramatically amid an anticipated mass increase in supply from Samsung Electronics, according to company chairman Peter Su.

Su also predicted that 8Gbit flash chip prices should edge below $20 by the end of this year.
