Touch Panel Suppliers Hit By High Inventory For 2.8" Segment
Touch panel suppliers are blaming their recent weak shipments on high inventory levels for the 2.8" segment at handset-use LCD module (LCM) makers, according to industry sources. Overall handset panel demand in the first quarter has been rather fair, but the 2.8" segment has been hit by inventory issues, as LCM clients have been unable to digest their inventories because they overstocked for the segment amid over-optimistic projections during the previous quarter, the sources said.
