Spring Case Madness: 24 Of The Best

Chieftec AL-01DB

The Chieftec

You asked for it and you got it: we finally have been able to get some samples of the other cases from Chieftec to review, thanks for Michael Chang at Directron. Directron is one of the largest distributors of Chieftec products in the US and carries nearly all the complete line of products from Chieftec.

For those who don't already know, Chieftec acts as OEM for many companies who sell their cases under their own branding. Chieftec offers a variety of designs and many of these include exclusively developed ideas that made their appearance in other cases before being added to the Chieftec line. In addition Chieftec does market some of these cases through many distributors.

What is perhaps most interesting is that you see many of the same cases on the inside that you have seen elsewhere, but with different bezel designs. This is kind of cool, and has been quite an attraction to case modders. Chieftec and cases made for others by Chieftec hold the distinction of perhaps the most modded case in the world today.

A look at the AL-01DB.

The AL-01DB is quite a departure for Chieftec. AL-01DB is part of the Chieftec Apollo series. It is not the normal case or even remotely similar to many of the other models that we are used to seeing from them. This case is clearly designed to be more home user/novice friendly while keeping some of the Chieftec innovations, but at the same time being able to be marketed at a lower cost.
