Why you can trust Tom's Hardware
I’ve observed lately that gaming monitors are getting quicker. Screen draw times haven’t changed but input lag seems to get lower with each new model introduction. I was impressed with anything below 30ms in the past. Now, I’m routinely seeing 20ms and less. At that point, anyone but a top gaming pro won’t perceive any lag. In-game movement becomes an extension of the mouse and keyboard and every command is instantly translated into smooth motion.
The Gigabyte G34WQCP is first, a superb gaming monitor. Though 190 Hz might be thought of as closer to the back of the pack rather than the 240 Hz I see from more expensive screens, the G34WQCP makes a lot of this attribute. Its total input lag is just 20ms which puts it in striking distance of many 240 Hz displays. You’re getting that same feel for a substantial discount.
It also offers the 34-inch 21:9 experience that no 27-inch 16:9 screen can. Curved ultra-wide monitors deliver an immersive feel that is difficult to replicate with a flat panel. The G34WQCP has one of the best VA monitors I’ve seen of late with around 5,000:1 contrast, well above the class average. And though it doesn’t have Quantum Dots or Mini LEDs, it presents a sharp, bright and vividly colorful image that looks great right out of the box.
The Gigabyte G34WQCP is a classic, “everything you need and nothing you don’t” gaming monitor. It makes a few minor sacrifices but delivers performance in spades while looking great in the process.

lttenso Hi... I was ready to Pull the trigger, but then i saw a new revison on gigabyte site, called g34wqcp rev. 2.0, with some diferences... 10bit display panel, mor nits of brigtness, a new stand... Etc... Does the 10 bit panel makes diference? The strange thing is, it maintain the same name with a complete diferent monitor... What do you think about this? Thank youReply -
cyrusfox My main complaint here is the VA panel, though less of a concern as it is a curved display and per your review, sounds like it is the best of this substandard display tech (I have a samsung VA ultrawide and the color shift from center to edge is horrendous, no curve though). Sadly many games I enjoy don't allow ultrawide configuration (SC2). As such I will stick with 16:9|16:10|4:3 configurations going forward.Reply
