KTC, as a company, is new to my experience as a reviewer, but a little research revealed that it has been around for 30 years as a display manufacturer. I’ve been considering the H27E6 a first-effort product, but it does, in fac,t come from a solid background of engineering and development. History aside, the H27E6 delivers tremendous performance for the money. At $270, it is one of the least expensive speedy 27-inch QHD monitors I’ve tested, but it stands out from the pack in several ways.

Among IPS panels, it delivers more contrast than average, 50% more or around 1,500:1, and that’s a difference you can see. It also delivers more color, 101% coverage of DCI-P3 versus the more typical 93%. And it does this without the added expense of a Quantum Dot layer. It’s also a tad brighter than average with a reliable 475 nits for SDR and HDR content. I found it had upward potential for color and gamma accuracy, but a few minor adjustments fixed that. It also had superb HDR with calibration ability, something I almost never see. That made HDR imagery stand out as well.

It also delivered superb video processing. The H27E6’s MPRT backlight strobe is one of the few that operates without significant phasing artifacts. And it can be used right up to the overclocked 320 Hz. The overdrive was very precise, which contributed to smooth motion without any ghosting.

The only thing KTC leaves out here are internal speakers and USB ports. But you do get LED lighting, refined styling and solid build quality. Yes, for $270, the H27E6 has an impressive price/performance ratio.

If you’re looking for a versatile and high-performing gaming monitor but can’t spend more than $300, the KTC H27E6 is absolutely worth checking out.
