Brother Updates Business Smart Printers Line
On Thursday, Brother International Corporation expanded its Business Smart Series of printers with the launch of the MFC-J4420DW. Designed with small offices and home offices (SOHO) in mind, it's a color inkjet all-in-one with faster print speeds, mobile device connectivity, and a 2.7-inch color touchscreen display.
"By committing to low-cost printing, mobile device connectivity, and versatile paper handling, we're making owning an innovative, hard-working Brother Inkjet All-in-One accessible to SOHO customers who are keeping a careful eye on their budget," said Eric Dahl, Brother Director of Marketing for SOHO products.
According to the specs, the new all-in-one printer is the fastest in its class, with up to 20 ppm black and 18 ppm color. The printer is also compatible with Super High-yield replacement ink cartridges, which delivers approximately 1,200 pages black and 1,200 pages color. That means a lower cost per page, which is ideal in higher volume SOHO printing environments.
Thanks to the printer's Wireless N connectivity, users can print and scan from mobile devices including Apple's iOS, Android, Windows Phone and Amazon's Fire OS. This is accomplished by connecting to the printer via AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, the free Brother iPrint&Scan app, Wi-Fi Direct, or Cortado Workplace. The printer can also scan to Dropbox, Google Drive, Box, OneDrive, Onenote and more.
Brother provides a list of features that includes the ability to print on 11" x 17" paper by using the printer's single-sheet bypass tray. The printer also has a 150-sheet paper tray capacity for paper up to 8.5" x 11," and a 20-sheet Automatic Document Feeder for unattended multi-page scanning, copying and faxing.
In addition to those features, the printer provides automatic duplex (two-sided) printing. The printer also includes Landscape Print Technology, which stores and feeds paper in a landscape orientation for a "space-saving, desk-friendly" design.
The MFC-J4420DW is available now for $169.99 USD.
