Toshiba Refreshing Satellite C and L Series Laptops
Toshiba has refreshed four laptops.
Toshiba announced on this week that it has refreshed its popular Satellite C and L Series laptops, making them ideal for customers looking for everyday productivity and entertainment that won't cost an arm and a leg.
Satellite L55
For starters, the Satellite L55 (15.6-inch) and the Satellite L75 (17.3-inch) feature "generous" storage and essential ports including HDMI and USB 3.0. They're dolled up with Toshiba's Fusion Finish in a trendy modern gold color, and even provide Toshiba's new TruType keyboard. Rounding out the new design is a "sophisticated" metal mesh slit speaker grill housing a pair of speakers tuned to Skullcandy audio.
As for the hardware, customers can choose Intel or AMD processors, up to 12 GB of RAM, and optional optical drives. Wireless options include 802.11n and 802.11ac, and storage options include HDD capacities ranging from 500 GB to 1 TB. They also feature Toshiba's Sleep & Charge technology, which will charge devices like phones and MP3 players even when they're turned off.
Satellite C Series
Next we have the budget-focused Satellite C Series: the Satellite C55 (15.6-inch) and the Satellite C75 (17.3-inch). These laptops focus on value and reliability, and are ideal for budget-conscious consumers and families looking for a well-equipped PC. Unfortunately, Toshiba hasn't provided any value-focused hardware details as of this writing.
That said, the company announced that this series features a modern, textured matte black finish. Configuration options include processors from Intel and AMD, storage capacities up to 1 TB, DVD optical drives and 10-point multi-touch displays. There's also an integrated webcam, HDMI and USB 3.0 ports, and an SDXC card slot for additional storage.
"To enhance the sound capabilities of both the Satellite L and C series, Toshiba turned to the audiophiles at Skullcandy to provide a richer sound experience more commonly heard on more expensive laptops," states the PR. "To achieve clearer, more natural sound, Toshiba and Skullcandy, along with DTS, aligned to tune the built-in speakers to Skullcandy's audio spec, as well as integrate a custom sound profile with optimized settings for Skullcandy headphones and earbuds. To alert consumers to the audio advantage, Satellite C and L Series laptops now feature Skullcandy branding."
The new Satellite L Series will be available on June 22, 2014, starting at $399.99. The new Satellite C Series will be available on June 22, 2014, starting at $329.99.
