Aquamark3: Accurate Benchmarking for Old and New (DirectX9) Apps?
Special Features Of Aquamark3
Depending on the license, AM3 offers a lot of useful tools. Last but not least, the whole driver discussion in 3DMark 2003 was the reason for Massive to offer ways to get better information on what the VGA driver is doing and what not. Here's an overview of the tools:
AquaMark3 OVIST (Overdraw Visualization Technique)
OVIST fills the frame buffer with a brightness value according to the numbers of times of writing procedures per pixel. It is important to notice that this procedure uses exactly the same shaders as used for the standard test with an additional post pixel colorization. Subsequent to this shading process the pseudo-color for the respective pixels is calculated and rendered. Blue = low Overdraw; Yellow = medium Overdraw; Red = high Overdraw.
