Benchmark Results: Fallout 3
This game is a mix of role-playing and first-person shooter, powered by an improved version of the Oblivion graphics engine. Fallout 3 supports High Dynamic-Range (HDR) rendering using Shader 3.0. The graphics engine presents the expansive outside environment smoothly, and cramped interior spaces are no sweat for modern graphics chips, either.
We set the graphics-quality settings to Very High for our High-End tests, enabling maximum graphics quality. The highest test setting for anti-aliasing (AA) is 8x. We used a game sequence from the Tenpenny Tower to take our FRAPS measurements. This scene features an expansive landscape, with lots of objects and ruins all over.
