Microsoft does Bluetooth with the new Wireless Optical Desktop for Bluetooth.

One thing that amazes us is the way Microsoft continues to remain so dominant and trend-setting in the input hardware device arena. And the giant does it again with the new Wireless Optical Desktop for Bluetooth. Wireless keyboards and mice are hot items, and it seems that everyone is moving to cut the cords. Microsoft does it with style by adding Bluetooth wireless technology.

While devices using Bluetooth have been slow to appear on the retail market, our initial findings indicate that Microsoft has gotten it 'right' with this product. Besides offering a 30-foot range, this keyboard offers an excellent feel and numerous function keys at the top of the keyboard. Some might complain that it is not yet available in Microsoft's famed "Natural Keyboard" format. (Microsoft does have a new Natural Wireless Optical Desktop that uses RF technology, but not Bluetooth yet.) Still, this is an amazing package with excellent performance and is sure to delight anyone who receives it as a gift. While some might complain about the high price, there seems to be a shortage of supply, with many retailers already telling us that they have been sold out since its initial release. It might be difficult to get your hands on one, but if you are looking for the ultimate in a wireless keyboard and mouse this holiday season, this is it.
